Abitare / Galerie Farra, Mkalles, Beirut

Info

The Farra Design center is an alteration and addition to an existing factory building with an addition on top of, and besides the existing structure.

The project has 3 parking levels and 4 upper floors of furniture exposition space covering over 5,000 m².

The Italian mother company requested the removal of over half of the existing columns. We therefore lifted the existing building on a steel structure, removed central columns, introduced drop beams, and enlarged and reinforced the remaining footings and columns.

The project consists of two separate buildings connected by steel and glass bridges and crowned by a continuous skylight between the two buildings spanning from the front to the back.
